The Best Thing a Father Can Do for His Children

It has been said, more than once, and by more than one prominent person, that the best thing a father can do for his children, is to love their mother.

The family gains strength from the marriage. Strong marriages result in strong families. The characteristics of love, compromise, and consideration that are required to keep a marriage strong, are exactly the characteristics that help to shape good parents.

When parents quarrel, kids feel insecure.

When parents neglect each other, they are more likely to neglect the kids.

When parents are selfish with each other, they become selfish with the kids.

Children learn what they are taught, and their ability to nurture relationships as adults, is very much dependent upon what they observe in their parents.

When a couple loves each other, and demonstrates that in appropriate ways, and when their commitment to one another cannot be shaken, the kids know that, and it affects them positively throughout their entire lives.

When a parent brings a series of "friends" through the house, exposing their child to one pseudo-parent after another, with no constancy, the child learns first to not trust, and then that such a behavior is the appropriate course for them. The parent not only perpetuates repeated heartache for themselves, they virtually guarantee that their behavior will cause the child to create repeated heartache in their own life. It ends up being a form of abuse, which hurts generations.

When the marriage stays intact, the likelihood is much greater that your kids will be able to keep their relationships intact.
