Marriage 

Marriage is more than two people who feel they were "meant for each other". It is kindness, dedication, patience, and a willingness to bite one's tongue rather than injure one's spouse. Love may come and go if not nurtured effectively, and the commitment implied in marriage vows, if practiced diligently, will always possess the power to bring love that has faded, fully into bloom again.

Every marriage has hard times. It is surviving them and coming out better that counts. Every spouse has irritating problems. Overlooking them or working through them helps a marriage succeed in spite of them. Every marriage that survives 25 or 50 years has been tested to its limits. There is no such thing as an easy marriage. But when there is more good than bad, and when there is progress, marriage can be purely wonderful.
